Does God exist; if yes then in what form?

People in the western world are rapidly loosing their faith in God day by day. There are several reasons for it but mainly it’s because of scientific inventions and modern philosophies about evolution which have created doubts in their minds.

If we look around us, there are signs of God everywhere: the beautiful sunset on a summer evening, the moon and the stars on a cloudless night, the water that we drink, the trees and how they grow from tiny seeds.

Think about yourself: your eyes with which you see, your ears with which you hear, your tongues with which you taste and speak, your hands and your feet, your heart and your brain. Consider how these things are so complex in themselves and yet work together in such perfect harmony.

From the movement of the galaxies to the complexities of the interaction of molecules, from the dynamics of eco-systems to the intricacies of DNA, all lead to the obvious fact of the existence of the great Wisdom, Knowledge and Power that allows our Universe to exist and function.

To any perceptive person the existence and intricacy of creation is conclusive proof of the Existence, Knowledge and Wisdom of the One who creates, organizes and sustains it.

Most people naturally recognize the existence of the Creator, and we find reference to the Creator in all cultures and religions. Even the atheists, communists and (disbelieving) scientists cannot avoid this reality, but avoid the term 'creator', for phrases like ‘Mother Nature' and ‘the amazing way nature has designed...'

How strange in the face of this, that many today reject the belief in the existence of the Creator. Perhaps this is due more to fashion and the desire to justify a materialistic attitude to life rather than real observation and comprehension of reality.

Something stranger still, and perhaps another reason for the trend to deny the Creator, are those who claim that a man, or men, who walked on the earth, breathed air, who had bodies and souls subject to the Laws of the Universe, are the Creator, or manifestations of the Self-Subsistent One. This is of course a complete contradiction in terms. Something cannot be the Creator and created at the same time, needing air, food and drink and being self-sufficient, being temporary and eternal!

If you are one of those who believe that a man such as the Buddha, or Krishna, or Jesus or anyone else is the Creator and Controller, then think again.

We were created from a drop of despised fluid, in which was a microscopic sperm, which fertilized a microscopic egg and we grew in our mother's womb in stages predetermined, over which we had no control. We came from our mother's womb, urinating and defecating, needing constant attention and care. Without food we will die, without air we will die ... and then such a one is God?

Indeed any intelligent person would recognize exactly how dependant life, the universe and everything is on its Creator. Our dire need for His help makes itself plain in times of great distress.

The parable of a disbelieving person is that of a person who is born blind. For such a blind person, who has never seen a day light since his birth, it is incomprehensible that something called ‘light’ exists and is surrounding him. The inability of a blind person to see and recognize the day light does not justify the non-existence of it. Similarly just like we can’t describe the size, shape or form of light, in the same way we can’t describe the size, shape or form of God.

When a person looks at a painting he straightaway knows that it’s a job of a painter, even though he hasn’t seen the painter himself.

When he looks at a building he can surely say that it’s the job of a builder and architect even though he has never met the builder or the architect himself.

Similarly, when he looks around this beautiful Universe and ponders how systematically it works in an organized and planned way, then he should have no doubt in coming to the conclusion that it’s a job of a Creator, a Planner, a Designer and a Sustainer, a Giver of Life and Death even though he hasn’t met or seen Him.

God’s creations are infinite like Him....for example no one can tell how many number of leaves on the trees in this world or how many stars in the sky or fish in the sea or where the sky begins or ends etc.

The fact that this entire Universe is running in an organized, systematic and co-coordinated way is enough to prove that there is some super power which has fashioned all this to happen and is controlling everything.

If one ponders over the complexity of his own body and how the nervous system, digestive system, respiratory system are working together, it cannot be assumed that it’s just due to coincidence. Similarly our body parts have the ability to speak, hear, taste, see, feel and think…..one needs to think who has given our flesh all of these abilities…is it all by coincidence? Not at all. It makes perfect sense that there is a Creator and we are His creations.

There are countless signs of the existence of God…such as the Sun and the Moon come and go in a certain direction at their specified time, a seed when put in the soil and water grows into a plant, the sky that holds the rain, the earth that holds the treasures etc. Who is the one who has set these amazing mechanisms so perfectly? It’s none but the Almighty God…the only Super Power, the Able, the Eternal, the Originator.

Our tiny brains don’t even have the capacity to comprehend how God looks like or what is His shape, form or size. He is Incomparable. He is the One for whom there is/can be no example.

We humans are born with limited capacity. Our eyes cannot see what’s behind a wall but does it mean that nothing exists behind the wall? Similarly our ears can only listen to a sound which has a certain frequency, but does it mean no other sound exists which might have a different frequency? A few decades ago, virus and bacteria were unknown to mankind until scientists discovered them through powerful microscopes. Wouldn’t it be naïve to believe that the things which are invisible to us don’t exist?

People who are still not convinced that God exists, perhaps they are awaiting for the sky to tear apart and God to come down before your eyes. Surely that will happen on the Day of Judgment and sadly it will be too late and they will have no second chance to live their lives as believers and enter paradise. They seriously need to reconsider their position now. There is nothing to loose in believing God but a grave risk to loose God’s mercy in the hereafter.
